Types of visas issued by the Republic of Romanian state

The Romania Airport Transit Visa (A Type)

A visa application form, you can download from the website of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please fill the application form in typed letter.

For minors: The application form will be signed by their parent/s or legal guardian/s who have the custody.

Your passport should contain two blank pages for Romania consular staff to affix your visa, its mandatory.

Valid travel medical insurance in the EU and must covers at least €30,000 for any medical emergencies.

A proof of financial means to cover the duration of stay in Romania. You must have at least €50 per day, but no less than €500 overall or it should be equivalent in your local country’s currency.

You may submit proof of financial means through official bank statements.

A proof of accommodation in Romania, whether it’s for reservation in a hotel, a letter of invitation from a family member or from your friend, your organization or any other means of accommodation and it can also be used as you financial proof.

Your flight ticket. If you are driving there, submit your driving license, green card and your vehicle registration.

Nationals of the following countries pay a reduced Romania visa fee (€40):

Nationals of the following countries do not have to pay a Romania visa processing fee:

  • Republic of Moldova
  • Republic of North Macedonia
  • Serbia
